In February 2017, REN – Redes Energéticas Nacionais acquired a 42.5% stake of the share capital of Electrogas S.A., for 180M USD.

Located in the Tete province, Central-Western Mozambique, the Cahora Bassa dam is explored by Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB). It was created in February 1970 and started its operation in 1977.
